Procura announced today that Procura Mobile is now available on BlackBerry OS7 and Android. Support for Apple iOS is planned for late 2012. Designed as a multi-platform mobile solution, Procura provides their home and community care agencies with the flexibility to select the device that matches the needs of their field. Procura Mobile is supported on BlackBerry OS7 as well as the premium BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Bold 9790 devices. The Android release includes support for popular devices, and has been delivered for the Android 2.3 ("Gingerbread") and 4.0 ("Ice Cream Sandwich") versions of the operating system.
Testing for Apple iOS is currently underway and is expected to be released in late 2012. According to the International Data Corp, the combined mobile platforms from Google and Apple currently represent 85% of the global market share. Support of all three platforms paves the way for agencies to take advantage of the emerging "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) trend. Procura Mobile now gives our clients choices between the main device and operating systems to meet their current and future needs. Even a small agency, has the ability to use different devices because various disciplines have different requirements from their smartphone," says Scott Herrmann, Procura's Director of Mobile Solutions.
"Further, with more and more mobile devices, employees are embracing their own technology in the workplace and this BYOD trend means providing support for an increasingly diverse environment."
Procura Mobile on a smart phone is a crucial aspect of an integrated solution for today's home health care agency. Simplifying and improving administrative processes while enhancing communication, Procura Mobile facilitates improved delivery of care and patient safety and decreases operating expenses through accurate patient history, travel, and scheduling information. Integrated seamlessly with Procura's server-side application it is a good match for staff who do not require the larger form factor for their charting needs, such as unlicensed care professionals and routine visiting nurses. Spanning the continuum of care, Procura's Mobile Health Solutions also include the Callme! EVV (Electronic Visit Verification) solution, and Procura on a tablet, laptop or 'pad'.
A touch tone EVV solution, Callme! ensures that mandated services are provided in areas with no cell phone coverage and/or for staff with minimal shifts due to a low cost of ownership. Procura's clinical solution on tablets, laptops or 'pads' allows for assessments and 'comprehensive charting' at the point of care. Home health agencies on Procura are no stranger to accessing it in the field on Android tablets or iPads, as demonstrated by the innovative use of the solution by Infinity Home Health Services in Ohio. Realizing significant cost reductions, increased productivity, and better work-life balance, the Procura and iPad combination has contributed to Infinity's impressive 20% growth curve for the past five years.
