Everest College, a provider of career-oriented diploma and degree programs at more than 100 campuses across the nation, today announced an alliance with the most influential healthcare revenue cycle and management services association, Healthcare Billing & Management Association (HBMA). Under the agreement, HBMA will provide externship and placement opportunities to its large membership base for Everest’s medical insurance billing and coding (MIBC) students, and assist in the development of the school’s MIBC curriculum.
“The partnership with HMBA will open doors to new externship and job opportunities for our students and graduates,” said Anthony Mann, director of national employer development for Everest College. “HBMA will also help us create an enhanced MIBC program for our students. In turn, we’ll be able to provide well-trained, highly qualified graduates to work with HBMA member companies.”
HBMA members provide a variety of business support services for the nation’s physician practices. The Healthcare Billing & Management Association (HBMA.org) is a key stakeholder in a $38 billion physician RCM industry, and represents more than 30,000 employees at well over 700 third-party medical billing firms. Annually, HBMA companies submit more than 350 million initial claims on behalf of hospital-based physicians, office-based physicians and other allied healthcare providers.
“Currently, we are working on a website presence for Everest students to view externship and placement opportunities as well as our membership base to view the credentials of Everest students. We are confident that our alliance with Everest will be fruitful in helping more graduates find employment, as well as provide our members with quality recruits,” stated Sherri Dumford, Director of Operations for HBMA.
